Almost 1!

Just some fun pics that help paint of picture of who Rachel really is!

Let's pull all of the books of the shelf so we can climb onto the bottom shelf! This is what she does when she is quiet for a while . . .

Wearing daddy's hat and looking adorable!

We went camping with our church for a weekend. Rachel did awesome and was incredibly fun to take camping! It was a great weekend learning more and more how to live in community!

2008 - Summer with Huizenga Family

In late July 2008, everyone on Leah's side was home for a period of time. It was great as this happens less and less. We had Great-Grandma Huizenga come - here she is with Emma.

Lydia, Allie and Hannah - coloring and being goofey!

Joel got this great jersey - go Holland!

Alec - what a ham!

Alec & Rachel - only 3 weeks apart. At this point, they are about one month away from turning one. It was fun seeing them "play together".

2008 - Spring

These were pics taken in late March as well when a friend came to babysit for the day! What fun pics that capture her cuteness!

These 3 pics are from late March. Rachel is 7 months old here. Her eyes and smile light up the room!!

2008 - Changes & Growing Quickly!!

These are 3 pics from Feb & March. Just one of those days I felt like putting her into a pose!

I included this one so everyone can see John's winter beards!!

I love when she puts her toes in her mouth. This was the beginning of her love for putting odd things in her mouth - dirt, lint, bugs, toys, cardboard, etc.

These are 4 pics from January 2008. Drool!

Dancing in the Kitchen with Dad!

Eating cereal for the first time! And loving it!

Just being cute! And of course, not sitting back in the chair!

On January 3, 2008, Emma Adriaantje Brokaar (my niece) was born to Peter & Elisabeth! She made it just in time to complete 5 grandchildren born in one year. It started with Molly on Jan. 4, 2007!!

Christmas - 2007

The Meskis Christmas

Rachel here with cousins Sophie & Elliot

Isn't the Tree topper cute?

Cutie!!

Oddly enough, the Meskis family had this doll. When we came over, they brought it out and we laughed quite a bit having a hard time picking out which one was the doll!

Rachel Baptism - Dec 23, 2007

These photos capture the day of Rachel's Baptism at Missio Dei Church (Mokena, IL)

Grandma Huizenga holding Rachel - Rachel is wearing the same dress I wore when I was baptized!

Cousin Dylan Meskis holding Rachel after the baptism.

Rachel with her Daddy!

Grandpa Huizenga was able to actually perform the baptism! What a special day it was committing in front of our Brothers and Sisters in Christ to raise our children up in the ways of the God we serve as well as asking for them to commit to being a part of this process!!
